Blogs Are Stupid

Doesn't anyone believe in Dear Diary anymore? What happened to the joy of putting actual pen to paper? And why does every ordinary Jane and John think they can write well enough to burden the world with their scribblings? It’s a mystery that badly needs solving. My first entry contains my thoughts about blogging and will set your expectations. The rest will probably be stream of consciousness garbage, much like you’ll find on any other blog. Perhaps we will both come away enlightened.

The Best Medicine

It's been a rough week.

Lots of heavy stuff...the death of a friend, the decision to medicate my youngest son, work concerns for Husband, and the persistent ache of missing my family.

I need to laugh.

If you can watch the following and not laugh...well, I'd venture to say your week has been a whole lot rougher than mine.







Diminutive One heard the giggles and came to watch. He grinned.

"Is it really that fun to have a baby?" he asked.

"Yes. It really is."

I squeezed him, remembering. From the very first chortle, his laugh has been infectious. I used to tickle him just for the sheer joy of hearing it spill out of him.

Babies are good.

And I feel better. You?

    After such a heady brew of life at it's most difficult, no wonder it's a delight to bask in the simple, primal joy of a baby being a baby.

    Jim sounded like someone I would have loved as well. A kindred spirit.

    So sorry about your week.

    The medication decision is so tough.

    The second video is one of my favorites. I had never seen the first one. My husband and I are on the fence about having another...these videos did not help.Or maybe they did. :)

    I hope you find lots more laughter this week.

    Sorry you had such a rough week. That sounds like way more than any one person should have to deal with in such a short period of time.

    I always visit the Flight of the Conchords You Tubes when nothing else will do. Fun-ny!

    My 2 month old daughter has just started cooing, her laugh consists of an excited cough at this point, but I have to admit - it makes my day when she does it. I can't help but smile. Those videos were wonderful and I hope that your weekend is peaceful.
