The Story Of M

This month, I have nominated Mischief for a Perfect Post Award.



Mischief is not a veteran blogger. In fact, she is a blogging neophyte. She uses one of Blogger’s standard templates. She doesn’t have a lot of nifty stuff in her sidebar. She doesn’t know how to make hyperlinks. She doesn’t publish a feed, she doesn’t subscribe to Bloglines, she doesn’t belong to any super hip blogging groups or participate in any high profile bloggy activities.

But it doesn’t matter.

Because it is her words that I want you to focus on.

You see, Mischief has a very important story to tell, and she has decided, after 20 years, to share it with the world. Her courage truly inspires me.

Her story is heart wrenching. Most of us will never know the kind of anguish that she experienced; most of us will never know the weight of responsibility that she had to bear at a very young age. But while she tells her story with raw and beautiful honesty, she does so without self-pity. She has made peace with her decision.

Thank you Mischief for sharing your story. I believe that you will help other women who might be faced with a similar decision, or whom, perhaps, are struggling with a decision they’ve already made and how it has affected their lives.
